Editorial policy and corrections
A regional rate a few euros out of date per horsepower, and the amount shown no longer matches what the ANTS will charge. A malus scale one year behind, and the gap runs into thousands of euros. This is how we keep those figures and what we do when one of them is wrong.
Responsibility
Radif Partners answers for every rate, every scale and every rule in the calculator. Report a difference to contact@cartegrisejuste.fr; it is checked against the official text before anything is changed.
Primary sources
- Légifrance: the tax code on goods and services (vehicle registration taxes) and the finance acts;
- service-public.gouv.fr: the official guidance on certificate costs and on the maluses;
- regional councils: the resolutions setting the fiscal horsepower rate and any exemptions;
- the ANTS: the rules of the application and the documents required.
A figure seen only on an intermediary’s site or in the press never enters the calculator. Every regional rate is read from the State’s official simulator; a start date we could not read in a regional text is marked “not verified” in the regions table. It is never shown as verified.
Estimates, not bills
Every amount is worked out from your inputs and the scales in force on the chosen date. The amount the ANTS calculates when you apply is the one that counts; we publish a calculation so that it can be checked, not replaced.
Checks before publication
Every rebuild replays cases worked out by hand from the texts and official examples: regional tax by region, half rate after ten years, maluses at the edges of the scales, the shared cap on both maluses, the reduction for an imported used car. A case that drifts blocks publication.
Schedule
Regional rates: reread whenever a region votes and at least every quarter. National scales: at each finance act. The date at the bottom of each page comes from the parameter file.
Handling errors
- Check against the official text.
- Fix the parameter file or the engine, add a test.
- New date on the pages concerned.
Independence
No commercial link with a registration intermediary, a car dealer or an insurer. Should such a relationship ever exist, it would be stated where it applies.
